The X1 Carbon Combo is Bambu Lab's flagship multi-colour printer, combining carbon-fibre-reinforced rods, a CoreXY motion system, and an integrated AMS for automatic material switching across up to 16 colours and materials. It delivers speeds up to 500 mm/s without sacrificing dimensional accuracy — the fastest consumer printer on the market.
What makes this machine different?
The X1 Carbon combines industrial motion engineering with a first-party multi-material system designed from the ground up to work together. Unlike open-source machines where AMS is bolted on, the Bambu Lab ecosystem is built as a unified product — firmware, slicer, hardware and cloud all co-designed.
The build plate auto-levels in 30 seconds via a lidar sensor that scans each layer. The enclosed chamber reaches 60°C for engineering filaments like PA and ABS. The AMS holds four spools and feeds them into a single toolhead with automatic filament cutting and purging.
